The Road to Cooperstown

I turned my family's road to Cooperstown into an app designed to help other baseball families navigate the months of planning, decisions, and details that come with the journey, so they can spend less time figuring it all out and more time enjoying it.

The problem

How do you make an experience this meaningful feel less overwhelming?

Getting a team to Cooperstown is about much more than baseball. Families spend months fundraising, booking travel, ordering pins, planning team activities, figuring out what to pack, tracking deadlines, and piecing together advice from websites, Facebook groups, coaches, and families who have already been there.

The information exists. The problem is that it's fragmented.

And when you're experiencing Cooperstown for the first time, you don't always know what you need to know until you need it.

Why this

This one was personal.

My son's team spent years playing together and 18 months preparing for Cooperstown. As we got closer, I found myself doing what I naturally do when something feels complicated: collecting information, looking for patterns, organizing it, and trying to make the experience easier to navigate.

There were spreadsheets. Checklists. Screenshots. Facebook posts. Recommendations from other parents. Dates to remember. Things we didn't know we needed until another family mentioned them.

And I kept thinking: Why isn't all of this in one place?

So I built what I wished we'd had.

Road to Cooperstown brings the journey together in one experience, from planning and fundraising to packing, schedules, milestones, and what families need once they arrive.

But the project also became an experiment in something bigger for me: how quickly you can move from identifying a real human problem to building something people can actually use.

The technology made it possible to build the product. The lived experience told me what was worth building.
